A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting my first solo wedding. The bride was my beautiful cousin Calli, marrying her longtime sweetheart Brad at a gorgeous Tennessee estate in near perfect weather at sunset. I couldn’t have asked for a better first wedding, with a perfect setting, surrounded by family, working with a bride who gave me the freedom to be as creative as I’d like, and I feel extremely blessed to have been a part of it! For some reason, when talking to other photographers about venturing out into wedding photography, most all have either flat out discouraged moving into weddings, or given me a look of “Really? I hope you know what you’re doing.” While I can’t say that I have it all figured out, and I realize there will be ups and downs in this industry, I am really excited to continue down this road and be a part of a couple’s ultimate and public expression of their love! Here are some of my favorite shots from this gorgeous wedding and weekend! View the full gallery here!
This past Thursday I had the pleasure of spending the morning with Nikki Warden and Victor Ortega at the Heard Museum and at the downtown McKinney Square braving the heat to try and capture their love as best I could for their engagement photography! They’re such a beautiful couple and so natural in front of the camera, and so much working with people who don’t mind exploring and hiking through tall grass and trees trying to get the perfect shots, never complaining despite the nearly 100 degree heat! Super excited to show off what we were able to get and cannot wait to shoot the bridals this wedding next February! Let them know what you think!
