The Hot Spot series is designed to highlight and catalog the many parks, venues and locations throughout Collin County that may be useful to photographers as well as clients looking to find unique locations for photography. Beaver Run Park in Fairview, Texas is a newly developed multi-purpose park with everything from basketball courts, horseshoes, jogging trails, a bridge and even a large deck overlooking a small pond. This park is off the beaten path back off Old Stacy road in a newer subdivision, and at the time of my visit was still under construction with many of the sidewalks yet to be finished, so more may be open to the public in the near future. What I did see was a nice area with a playground, gazebo and basketball court at the entrance, with picnic tables and winding trails heading back through the woods. Near the end of the current trail sits the large wooden dock overlooking a small pond with beautiful trees surrounding it.
I’d recommend visiting during late October to mid-November when the foliage is just changing colors with bright red, yellow and green highlighting the trail. There were multiple areas to take photos, from the various trails and curves to the bridge and pond, with benches and tables spread throughout. Overall a great spot for many different types of photography sessions!
